Acting jobs are jobs a user is authorized to perform as the need arises. For example, a police sergeant could act as a lieutenant for a shift if all the lieutenants were unavailable to work.  

Unlike primary jobs, users can be assigned multiple acting jobs for the same effective date range.  A user can be assigned as many acting jobs as needed with the same or overlapping effective and expiration dates.
