WHY IS AN EMPLOYEE’S TIMECARD DEFAULTING TO THE NEW PAY PERIOD SHORTLY AFTER A PAY PERIOD ENDS?

IntelliTime is configured to display the most recent unsigned timecard to the user by default.  Once a timecard is signed (or once someone else has it pulled through the workflow with a GET) the employee will no longer be able to see the timecard from the TIMECARD tab.  The employee will only be able to view the timecard from the Document History link located under the ADMIN tab.

Timecards will also advance on the date the pay period is set to close.  The close date is defined on the Pay Period Calendar screen which is accessed from the PEP tab by hovering over the System Config link and then clicking on the Pay Periods navigation link.  The close date is the last day a user may sign the timecard for the pay period and it is also the last date any leave or overtime requests for this period may be submitted or approved.

If it seems timecards are advancing to the next pay period too quickly, the pay period closed date may need to be adjusted.
